October Count 2009

The official student membership count day for all Colorado public school districts is October 1st. This is the source of approximately 90 percent of the district's revenue. Accurate identification of all students who are eligible to be included in the official membership, as well as those not eligible for inclusion, plays a crucial role in the allocation of district resources.

  • Training - Final Training Schedule.xls
    • All contacts must attend the mandatory October Count Training at the time and location designated.
      • All trainings will be held at Del Pueblo School, 750 Galapago
      • 9/15/09 9:00 am Elementary A
      • 9/15/09 1:00 pm Elementary B
      • 9/16/09 9:00 am Middle Schools
      • 9/16/09 1:00 pm K-8 Schools
      • 9/17/09 9:00 am High Schools
      • 9/17/09 1:00 pm Elementary C
    • All schools have been assigned to one of the above training sessions. Click here to determine when your school has been scheduled for training. If you cannot make it to your scheduled training, please email Cori right away.
    • Charter schools will receive specific training during the late August charter schools institute. However, all charter school October Count contacts are invited to attend another training during the above noted days and times. Please rsvp to Cori via email if you plan to attend.
  • Count Window - September 24th through October 8th
    The official count window for determining attendance eligibility.
  • New Student Entry Information Form - October 1st
    Students enrolling from another Colorado public school district on or between 9/24 and 10/01 must appear on the "Student Entry Information" form
  • Official Count Day - Thursday, October 1st
  • Document Delivery Day - Monday, October 5th
    October Count folders (including alpha lists)will be hand delivered by DoTS Site Support staff.

    • Documents should be dropped off at the back entrance of Fairview Elementary School                                  @ 2715 W 11th Ave.
      • Elementary, K-8, & Middle October 12th 8:00 – 4:00
      • High School, Charter October 13th 8:00 – 4:00
    Schools must return all required documentation to the Department of Planning and Analysis at designated times, locations, and dates. All documentation must be hand delivered.
  • Miscellaneous
    Schools will continue to collect and provide outstanding documentation to the Department of Planning and Analysis, as as well as continue to monitor the Student Data Error Report.
